It was worth a lot more, but in this economy during what has shaped up as a very slow auction this year, Milne Auto Restoration’s 1962 VW Volkswagen Type 2 Double Cab Truck sold for $25,500 at the 2011 Russo and Steele auction in Monterey, California. Milne Auto’s latest restore, a 1962 VW Type 2 Double Cab Truck will be on sale at the Russo And Steele Auction on Saturday around 6 p.m.

This 1962 Volkswagen Type 2 Double Cab truck is completely restored and features a rebuilt 1600cc motor, rebuilt transmission and a 12 volt electric system that was finished in 2011. Additionally this bus is finished with new paint, interior, rubber, chrome, tires and brake system. The only miles since restoration are test miles.

1980 Z/28 Camaro one of one official pace car. This car paced the Miller High Life 150 Indy car race at Phoenix International Raceway on Oct. 20, 1979. Built in CA for Bobby Unser Chevrolet. Bobby Unser, 3 time Indy race winner donated it to PRI to pace this CART Indy car race. Bobby Unser himself confirmed that this is the real deal. It’s 1 of 1 built to pace the race. Bobby Unser autographed the glove box lid. Also included is an official program of the event. After 20 years of storage in CA, the car was professionally restored to it’s beautiful track debut condition.

Milne Auto Restoration’s 1965 VW Truck and camper was featured on SPEED-TV twice on Sept. 23, 2010 — the first day of the 2010 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Las Vegas.

Barrett-Jackson Update: 1956 Ford F100 Truck Sells for $35,200
Despite a terrible storm and a smaller than usually crown this morning at the Barret Jackson Auction in Phoenix, Milne Auto Restorations 1956 Ford F100 Big Window Truck sold for $35,200.

The Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsldale, Ariz. is only a few days away.
The auction runs from Jan. 18-24.

The restoration was started with a rust-free California truck which had been in storage for 20 years. The 223cid motor has had a complete rebuild, as had the entire brake system. The exterior was stripped and refinished in its original Diamond Blue paint. All chrome was newly plated and all rubber and glass replaced. The interior has two tone seat upholstery with the headliner, door panels and visors done in factory style grey card board. A host of options include side mount spare, five white wall tires, fog lamps, chrome grille and bumpers and rare heater. The only miles on the truck since restoration are test miles. | |
